Marigold (Calendula officinalis)

Description

Annual herbaceous plant, grows in the wild, from plains to mountain areas, but also it is grown in gardens, parks, systematic crops, for industrial and medicinal uses.

No special climate or soil conditions are necessary, being nonetheless a plant that loves the sun.

Use

In the dermato-cosmetics field, inflorescences are used under the form of tea, decoction, tincture, hydroalcoholic and oily extract.

The marigold extract has multiple properties, the main properties being: skin healing, epithelizing, emolliating, antiseptic, regenerating properties.

Marigold flowers are successfully used in accelerating the healing process: wounds, heat, chemical or sun burns, bedsores, eczemas etc. or only for keeping the health of the skin.
